Acrylic Halloween painting

I rarely use acrylics. I started with acrylics 3 years ago and within six months realized I didn’t like the medium. The medium dries too quickly for me to do any blending. I live in the high desert so everything dried before I could use up all the paint. Someone said I should probably try oils. Well I decided to go back to school and take some art classes. The instructor said I had to take a class with him if I wanted to take his advanced drawing class next semester. So guess what I had to take… acrylics.

Below is my attempt at painting sunflowers and a pumpkin! It started with a yellow that was a little too translucent. After buying liquitex paint, I was able to complete these sunflowers mixing it with red. I have to say I’m quite happy with my Halloween painting.
